While the queues for Rick Stein’s fish ‘n chips stretch around the South Quay car park the fish is arguably better at Chip Ahoy, Market Square. Once you’ve negotiated the confusing queuing system (just ask, everyone is as confused as everyone else)  the fish, always freshly cooked to order, is delicious. You don’t get a wedge of lemon and sprig of parsley, but the portions are huge. So unless you’re wearing jogging pants and haven’t eaten for a fortnight, one portion should do it. 8 Broad Street, Padstow.
